Using HolyBeans

HolyBeans, by CaffeinatedDev, is a coffee journal for Android. These terms describe use of the app and its optional features. Use it in accordance with applicable law and only with data, photos and services you are authorized to use. You retain your rights to the content you enter.

Open source

HolyBeans source code is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 3 only (GPL-3.0-only). Your rights to run, study, modify and distribute the software are governed by that license. These terms do not restrict those rights. See the GPL version 3 license. Dependencies retain their respective licenses.

Journal, backups and synchronization

You can use the local journal without a HolyBeans account. Google Drive synchronization is optional and requires your authorization and a compatible account. Data handling is described in the privacy policy.

Use the same Google account on devices that should share a journal, and wait for synchronization to finish before switching devices. When different versions exist, review which journal you choose to keep: selecting a version may replace the entire active journal. Keep independent backups of information you want to preserve.

Disabling Drive does not delete remote data. Google services’ availability, capacity and operation depend on their terms and your account’s status. Synchronization alone does not guarantee recovery from every loss or modification.

Devices, calculations and external services

Compatibility with scales, sensors and coffee machines depends on the model, firmware and connection. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and limits and supervise equipment use.

Extraction, water and other calculations help record and compare brews; they may depend on your measurements and input. They do not replace calibrated measurements or safety instructions. External services and apps you share content with have their own terms.

Availability and responsibility

HolyBeans is provided as is, subject to the warranties and limitations in its license and applicable law. It may contain errors or experience interruptions; continuous availability of all features and compatibility with all devices are not guaranteed. These terms do not exclude mandatory rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
